More about Quantum Foods Zambia

The Company services the small farmer with day-old broiler and layer chicks as well as well-balanced nutritious feed. Furthermore, they provide the small farmers with technical and practical assistance and advice. Delivering a healthy, well-vaccinated day-old chick with Ceva’s vaccination program enables their customers to achieve optimal success.

In the last four years, the breeder farm houses were upgraded, hatchery capacity was increased and upgraded, and extra commercial egg production was added. Quantum Foods is also very proud of its new Animal Feed Production plant, commissioned in September 2018.

Why this challenge?

This challenge forms part of the Ceva C.H.I.C.K program. It was implemented to establish some healthy competition in the industry whilst motivating personnel to improve beyond acceptable industry standards. This challenge demonstrates to customers how a specific hatchery’s performance compares to the rest of the industry.

Setting a high standard

A very high standard of vaccination is needed to achieve an independent Quality Recognition from Ceva South Africa since 2016. To this end, the whole of the Ceva C.H.I.C.K program process is supported, verified and approved by a third party, Bureau Veritas Group. This ensures that the Ceva vaccination services standards are maintained and accepted internationally - a guarantee of better services to our customers.

Why the quality stamp of approval?

Quality management is of very high importance within the agri-food industry and when it comes to poultry production, the vaccination process in hatcheries plays a crucial part to ensure maximum protection in the field. The integration of the vaccination process in hatcheries as part of a Quality Management system is of high relevance.

Ceva’s C.H.I.C.K Program Quality Code of Practice, which was produced together with Bureau Veritas Group, is the reference guide for Ceva vaccination services globally. This underlines Ceva Animal Health’s commitment to go “Beyond Animal Health”.
