  • An inactivated oil emulsion vaccine for the immunisation of day-old broiler chicks against Newcastle Disease (ND).

    This vaccine contains an inactivated Newcastle Disease virus (La Sota strain) in an oil emulsion.  Minimum titre per dose is 4 log2  HI, maximum inactivant content 500 µg/mℓ ethylene imine.

    INDICATIONS:

    An inactivated oil emulsion vaccine for the immunisation of day-old broiler chicks against Newcastle Disease (ND).

    STORAGE

    Store in a refrigerator at 2 – 8 ⁰C.

    Protect from sunlight. Do not freeze.

    COMPOSITION

    This vaccine contains an inactivated Newcastle Disease virus (La Sota strain) in an oil emulsion.  Minimum titre per dose is 4 log2 HI, maximum inactivant content, 500 µg/mℓ ethylene imine.

    WARNINGS

    Do not slaughter fowls for human consumption for at least 6 weeks after vaccination.

    Vaccinate healthy chicks only.

    Intravenous injection must be avoided.

    In healthy chicks no clinical reaction to vaccination is observed.

    Accidental self-injection may cause a severe local allergic reaction. Consult a physician and inform him/her that the vaccine contains a mineral oil.

    Destroy any unused vaccine by for example burning; dispose of all the vaccine containers when the vaccination is completed.

    Once the bottle has been opened, its contents must be used up within 24 hours.

    Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

    Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

    PRECAUTIONS

    Inject all day-old broiler chicks in the flock.

    Do not mix with any other vaccine.

    Observe aseptic precautions. Ensure that vaccination equipment (needles, syringes, etc) are clean and sterile prior to use.

     It is good vaccination practice, when handling vaccine, to avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed.

    CEVAC®  BROILER ND K is indicated for the immunization of healthy broiler chick flocks at day old against Newcastle Disease. Allow the vaccine to gradually reach room temperature (20 - 25 °C) prior to use. Shake well before use and at regular intervals during use. Remove the aluminium seal and the vaccine is ready for use. The dose of the vaccine is 0,1 mℓ, injected subcutaneously (neck region) or intramuscularly (breast region). (Intramuscular administration: the needle should be pointed in the direction of the chick’s head to prevent the needle from entering the body cavity).

    In healthy chicks no clinical reaction to vaccination is observed.
