Vaccines
Bacterial vaccines for the protection of large ruminants is an area of expertise that we inherited from the company's previous experience in biological products.
Coglavax ® (Vaccine for Clostridiosis)
A polyvalent-inactivated vaccine for the prevention of the following clostridial infections in sheep and cattle:
- Clostridial Myositis (Gas Gangrene, Malignant oedema, Black quarter, Sponssiekte, Necrotic hepatitis)
- Enterotoxaemia (Redgut, Bloodgut, Pulpy kidney, Haemorrhagic enteritis)
- Tetanus
Coglavax® is the only vaccine in South Africa which induces 2 IU/mℓ antibodies against Alpha toxin of Clostridium perfringens in the serum of control animals.
Coglavax® uses an adjuvant used in human vaccines: Aluminium Hydroxide. In comparison with oil or potash alumina vaccines, Coglavax® adjuvant induces a higher level of antibodies without major local or systemic reactions. Food intake and/or milk production are maintained after the injection.
